Whew! The Miami Heat kept their winning streak alive last night but it was a close shave in Washington as the Heat got a bare 95-94 win over the Wizards. Of course the Wizards had just lost Gilbert Arenas and were maybe in a funk from it but still managed to push Miami to the limit.
It was a free throw from Dwyane Wade that provided the winning margin but the Heat still had to hold off the Wizards and get a non-call from the officials on a layup at the end. Mark this down, the Miami Heat have now won a dozen games in a row and look like the team they were always meant to be, an NBA Championship style team. When this winning streak finally comes to an end, and it will, it will still mark a long extended moment when the Miami Heat came of age, came together, and lived up to the pre-season billing after the James trade lit up the news wires.
