It’s been five straight games now and the Miami Heat look like they’re starting to get back on track from injuries. Just last night the Heat took care of the hated Orlando Magic. Tonight they’ve come out and solidly whipped the Charlotte Bobcats. Miami Heat fans have to be happy about this. I know it was rough for awhile there. I also know that early on in the season some “experts” were saying that this Miami Heat team had no heart, that they were a collection of talent without character.
Dwyane Wade proved that theory wrong last night, overcoming a lingering back problem that had him pegged as possibly missing the game all the way up until starting time. Wade finished with 22 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists. Not bad for a heartless guy with a bad back. And he doesn’t even care.
“I kind of stopped caring about getting triple-doubles. I used to try and I wasn’t succeeding,” Wade said. “I’ve got to be leading the league in close-to-triple-doubles. It feels good to finally get one after five years off.”
So the Miami Heat have a heartless, crippled guy scoring triple-doubles and he’s not really worried about it. I think I and the rest of the crowd with Miami Heat tickets can live with that.Eric Drouant
